COLLINSVILLE, OKLAHOMA: Mahala Jewel Billie Burris, 93, died March 15, 2005. She was born May 5, 1911 in Lebanon, MO to Jim Starnes and Laura Belle Agee Starnes. She was a retired nurse, and attended the First Assembly of God Church in Siloam Springs, AR. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Burris; a daughter, Evelyn Phelps; and a sister, Farron Brown. Arrangements were entrusted to Wasson Funeral Home.
PONCA CITY, OKLAHOMA: Maxine D. Biggoose, 81, died April 15, 2005 at the Ponca Nursing Home. She was born February 24, 1924 in Ponca City to Theodore and Zilla Roy Biggoose. She was a U.S. Army veteran, and worked for Boeing Aircraft. She was a member of the Ponca Indian United Methodist Church. She is survived by a sister, Adah Grant of Red Rock; her nieces and nephews; a godson, David Wehr; and a close friend, Thelma Wehr. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister. Services were held at the Ponca Indian United Methodist Church. Interment with military honors was at the Ponca Indian Tribal Cemetery with arrangements by Trout Funeral Home.
MAUD, OKLAHOMA: Jack N. Arnold, 74, died May 18, 1999 at Shawnee Regional Hospital. He was born September 7, 1924 in Bloomburg, TX to Smith Doc and Mary Alice Bass Arnold. He worked at Amerada Petroleum Company in Seminole for 25 years, and was a pumper in the oil field. He was a former city councilman in Maud. He attended the First Baptist Church in Seminole, and was a past president of the Maud Rotary Club and the Maud Athletic Club. He coached Little League, and was a volunteer firefighter. He is survived by his wife, Ann Hill Arnold; three daughters, Jackie Acree of Maud, Sharon Northcott of Seminole, and Sue Herriman of Konawa; two sisters, Sally Christopher and Mary Clymer, both of Seminole; 6 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Services were held at the First Baptist Church of Maud. Interment was at Cummings Cemetery with arrangements by Knight Funeral Home.
WATONGA, OKLAHOMA: Flossie Edna Boon, 91, died December 1, 2005. She was born January 23, 1914 in Dewey County, OK to William Henry and Oley Lenora Luton Hightower. She was a babysitter, and also worked at the Jesus Closet. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, and enjoyed needlework and quilting. Survivors include her nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adell; her parents; three sisters; and four brothers. Services were held at the Nazarene Church in Watonga. Interment was at West Mount Pleasant Cemetery under the direction of Wilkinson Mortuary.

She was a member of the Kingfisher War Mothers, the Indian Baptist Church of Kingfisher, and the Native American Church. She is survived by five daughters, Vergenta Littlecalf (Gib) and Clara Blindwoman, all of Ashland, MT, Thomascine White Woman (Vernell, Sr.) and Wilma Yardley (Albert), all of Rapid City, SD, and Ethel Blindwoman of Kingfisher; three sisters, Imogene Risingsun of Montana, Jaunita Nullake (Walter) of Oklahoma City, and Mary Elizabeth Neconie (Harold) of Enid; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Blindwoman, Jr.; two daughters, Lolita Coffey and Sarah Jane Blindwoman; two brothers, Edward Harrison and Nathan Rednose; a sister, Emaline Tasso; and a granddaughter. Services were held at the Kingfisher County Fairgrounds Womens Building. Burial was at Kingfisher Cemetery with arrangements by Huber-Benson Funeral Home.
KANSAS, OKLAHOMA: Sharon Bowles, 69, died October 22, 2008, at her home. She was born January 29, 1939 in Cushing, OK to Douglas and Mary Pinion. She was a psychometrist for the State of Oklahoma, and administered IQ tests. She was a member of the Kansas Church of Christ. She is survived by a daughter, Cathy Cannon of Kansas; two sons, Mark Bowles of Kansas, and Jimmy Boles of North Dakota; a sister, Connie Piche of Buda, TX; 3 grandchildren; and 4 step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Bowles; and two daughters, Debra Odle and Vicki Chmiel. Services were held at the Kansas Church of Christ. Burial was at Kansas Cemetery by Wasson Funeral Home.

He was a former member of the U.S. Army National Guard, and served with the 45th Division in the Korean War. He attended the First Baptist Church, and was an award-winning bowler. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Ivans Brewczynski; a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Mike Thompson of Lawton; 2 grandsons; a nephew; and 2 nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services were held at the First Baptist Church. Interment was at Sunset Memorial Gardens with arrangements by Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

She was educated at Cherokee Female Seminary, and taught in Cherokee Nation public schools. She was a Methodist. She was a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy and the 20th Century Club. She was survived by three sisters; and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Samuel Ralston Bates; and two children. Interment was at Elmwood Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Grace Hullett of Larned, KS. Interment was at Gracelawn Cemetery.
